To integrate conservation into
local sustainable development.
Although rural development is usually not considered part of traditional conservation work, all experiences of the last decades showed that rural development is of utmost importance for the sustainability of land use practices in a specific area.

For this reason we involved ourselves into land-use planning and sustainable development alternatives and have supported the community of Zarnesti, core area of the CLCP, towards a sustainable rural development. Although we have no formal training in regional planning, we would see rural development due to our practical experiences as one of our specialities.

A focus on rural development

The latest since the conference of Rio, everybody talks about "sustainable development". Yet, sustainability is a dynamic process, which needs ongoing monitoring and adaptation of management. For this very reason we believe that sustainable development needs strong local structures, which are tied into national and international networks and control mechanisms.
