Wolves, bears, and lynx are highly attractive species and, consequently, media is very interested in stories around these carnivores. Within the frame of the CLCP, we were able to achieve deep insight into the world of print and TV media: several hundreds of journalists visited us here in Romania to document our research and conservation activities. Next to some three dozens of TV documentaries (e.g. the film "Lord of the Wolves", which has been broadcasted ca. 20 times on German TV and two BBC/Discovery Channel productions), articles appeared in almost all newspapers and magazines in Germany and in many others in Switzerland, Sweden, the US and the UK.
Next to media work, we created within the CLCP extensive information material for schools and universities. The "Romanian Wildlife Series" for instance, is a series of brochures about the ecology, biology, and management of bears, wolves, lynx, red deer, roe deer, wild boar, and chamois. These brochures are nowadays standard material in the university education of Romanian forestry students.

A focus on public awareness
Modern man is overloaded with information and advertisement. Despite, or maybe because of this, it is an important task to inform the general public and especially the interest groups about the goals and objectives of conservation. This is the only possibility to assure that conservation has its place in the public discussion."
